Amma Nanna Orphanage – Shelter for mentally disabled people from the streets

People with mental illness are not a threat to the society, but rather a challenge to the ethical and moral values of a community. Caring for them reveals our patience, kindness and integrity. The Amma Nanna orphanage established at Choutupalli, Nalgonda district is not just a home for many mentally retarded destitute orphans, but also where they are loved and treated with dignity. Ray of Hope visited this orphanage, organised lunch, distributed gifts and interacted with the inmates there. Skits and songs were part of a function to entertain them which they absolutely loved. It is everyone’s responsibility to care for such people. Let’s stand together to accept this challenge of uplifting the mentally ill!
